The Leakey Foundation presented the Leakey Prize, the nation’s most prestigious award in human evolutionary science, to world-renowned primate scientists Drs. Jane Goodall and Toshisada Nishida in November 2008. In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the foundation held a series of events in San Francisco and hired SWM to promote them from the local level up to the international stage.

SWM’s efforts garnered extensive media coverage including in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times, and leading bilingual (English-Japanese) daily paper, Hokubei Mainichi; radio interviews on a number of national programs, such as NPR’s Science Friday and PRI’s To the Best of Our Knowledge; and articles in Nature and Discover magazines.
