Background
In response to a devastating freeze that affected agricultural production throughout California, the James Irvine Foundation, one of California's largest foundations, donated a total of $250,000 to four community foundations throughout the state in order to provide aid to the farm workers whose livelihood was threatened due to the natural disaster. The Irvine Foundation grants were then distributed by the recipient community foundations to local frontline agencies to provide financial assistance for rent, mortgage, utility bills, and other ongoing expenses for farm workers and their families.

Farm Worker Assistance in the Wake of the Freeze: The James Irvine Foundation

Severn Williams Media was recruited by Full Court Press to work with the Irvine Foundation, recipient community foundations, and other statewide foundations to coordinate both local and statewide messages for this media campaign. Severn Williams Media tailored the message as necessary to each affected community.
