Establishing Organizational Visibility: East Bay Community Foundation

Although in existence since 1928, the East Bay Community Foundation (EBCF) and its more-than 400 charitable-fund holders maintained a low media profile until hiring Severn Williams Media to help raise visibility for the organization. We have conducted ongoing analysis of grant programs and community projects supported by EBCF grants and have maintained regular communication with appropriate reporters.

The repetition and consistency of EBCF's media outreach has resulted in numerous newspaper stories and the continual growth of relationships with reporters in the region. And, in early 2007, Severn Williams Media played a critical role in launching EBCF to the national and international stage when Nobel Laureate George F. Smoot donated his prize money to establish a charitable fund managed by EBCF.
