Background

Alan Minvielle went into the hospital for a routine knee surgery. He came home with rare and deadly bacteria that nearly killed him, and left him crippled for life. Cryolife, Inc., a for-profit company marketing human tissue, provided the infected graft for the operation. Minvielle filed a lawsuit against Cryolife to recover damages for his injury that resulted from the faulty tissue.

Public Good PR initiated a successful campaign that generated articles in The New York Times, U.S. News and World Report and on CBS 60 Minutes. Front page articles, TV news stories, and features in community papers also reached Minvielle's hometown and the trial venue, Santa Cruz, CA.
